Homecoming

In 1924, NSU hosted its first-ever homecoming. One hundred years later, NSU and the Alumni Association invite you to return to NSU for the centennial celebration - Forever Green.

Mission Statement

The College of Education is committed to continuous improvement by achieving results through rigor, relevance, relationships, and responsibility, thus facilitating the transformation of candidate to highly qualified professional in a diverse global society.

Vision Statement

The College of Education shapes the future of its region as the educational partner of choice by effectively preparing educators, professional school personnel, and other allied professionals to have a positive impact on the lives of students, families, and communities.

Goal 1: Digital Environment

The College of Education will integrate multiple modalities of course delivery and promote subject area innovation to best prepare students for a competitive workforce, and adhere to an evolving digital climate. 

Objective 1: 

Create a flexible learning environment with attainable pathways to produce workforce ready graduates.

Objective 2:

Integrate technology within programs to increase efficiency and promote subject area innovation.

Goal 2: Recruitment & Retention

The College of Education will continue to attract and retain students from all population entities while being transparent of recruitment and retention strategies and the effectiveness of those strategies.

Objective 1: 

Advertise the attractiveness and distinction of the college’s high quality programs, certificates, and badges to a diverse range of potential students.

Objective 2: 

Involve all COE employees in purposeful continuous recruitment and communicate the analysis of recruitment and retention efforts to the college, university departments, and community.

Objective 3: 

Enhance services, programs, and outreach for advising, remediation, and mentoring.

Initiate and sustain local, regional and global workforce partnerships to strengthen students’ experiential and immersive learning.

Establish and sustain mutually beneficial partnerships to encourage collaboration and student engagement.

Goal 4: Employee Satisfaction

The College of Education will provide opportunities to enhance employee professional and/or career goals, engage in ongoing intentional communication to build productivity within the college to increase employee satisfaction and promote student success.

Objective 1: 

Facilitate collaboration among departments, other colleges, and the community. 

Objective 2: 

Create yearly needs assessment regarding employee satisfaction to address strengths and weaknesses accordingly. 

Objective 3: 

Strengthen communication to COE employees and students through various delivery methods for reciprocal communication dialogue.
